It is always great when someone joins my Weight Away Plans and does well so I was so delighted that my latest male client has lost 15lbs in 7 weeks but also brilliantly 3 inches from his waist.
This is really great because I think we all know by now that having excess weight around our middles is the greatest risk to our health.
Nothing is more true than this as with Type 2 Diabetes where if you are a man and your waist is above 37 inches you are at risk and if it exceeds 40 inches you are 5 times more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes. For women this measurement is 32 inches but if it exceeds 35 inches you become 3 times more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes.
For men this can often be hidden in the sense that they are perhaps wearing their trousers below their actual waist and thinking that still have a waist measurement of less than 40 inches.
So take out your tape measure today and measure round the widest part of you middle and if you are at risk try to do something about it to improve your chances of not getting Type 2 Diabetes.
